Americana still exists. We were brambling* through the backroads of Vermont this weekend, daydreaming** of owning a farmhouse on the greenest of green hills (it's a scientific wonder, really). We took twists and turns through forests and farms and eventually stumbled upon a wooden sign for a farmstand, nestled in the ferns. This farmstand has an HONOR SYSTEM?! There was a stack of cash and a notebook where everyone wrote down what they took and how much they paid. It was idyllic and really darn cool. Who can run off with a cabbage when an honor system exists? I'm concocting a blueberry elixir from my purchases, stay tuned.

*this word doesn't actually exist. But, I've coined it to mean miscellany at it's finest.
**for the record, I really do want a farmhouse in VT. It's not just a daydream
